Configuring PhoneSheriff for iPhone Devices

Welcome to the configuration page for PhoneSheriff for your iPhone device. This guide assumes you have already installed PhoneSheriff using our installation guide..

iPhone Configuration

Assuming that PhoneSheriff™ v2.0 is already installed in the targeted smartphone, PhoneSheriff™ Mobile Admin Panel settings are to be made manually in the monitored iPhone by following the steps below.

Configuring Logging Options

You can select Logging Options and check or uncheck any of the mobile logging features listed in the panel. By default, all aspects are checked. Once checked, the boxes fill up with green color. Logging aspects include:

1. Call History,
2. Text Messages,
3. Contacts,
4. Calendar Entries,
5. Photos,
6. Website Visits,
7. Apps Installed,
8. iMessage,
9. Mail,
10. Notes,
11. Mobile Usage, and
12. Applications Run.

Toggle the option buttons to enable or disable a particular feature. Changes are automatically saved. Press the Back button on the smartphone to return to the PhoneSheriff™ main panel.

Follow the below screenshots in the sequence shown.

I. Configuring Text Message Logging- To set up SMS/text message logs, toggle ‘SMS’ button green listed under Logging menu. All text messages (sent and received) will be logged in the online control panel.

II. Configuring Call History Logging- To set up phone call logs, toggle ‘Call History’ button listed under Logging menu. All phone calls (dialed and received) will be logged in the online control panel.

III. Configuring iMessage Logging- To set up iMessage logs, toggle ‘iMessage’ button listed under Logging menu. All iMessages (sent and received) will be logged in the online control panel.

IV. Configuring Contact Logging- To set up contact logs, toggle ‘Contacts’ button green listed under Logging menu. All contact saved on the monitored device will be logged in the online control panel.

V. Configuring Website Visited Logging- To set up URL/websites visited logs, toggle ‘Websites Visited’ option listed under Logging menu. All URLs visited on the monitored phone’s internet browser will be logged in the online control panel.

VI.Configuring Photo Logging- To set up photos logs, toggle ‘Photo’ button green listed under Logging menu. All photos taken by the monitored device will be logged in the online control panel.

VII. Configuring Video Logging- To set up video logs, toggle ‘Video’ button green listed under Logging menu. All videos taken by the monitored device will be logged in the online control panel.

VIII.Configuring Application Open Logging- To set up this feature, toggle ‘Application Open’ button green from the Logging menu. It records details about all the apps running or open into the monitored iPhone, including app name, app version, and time/date onto the online control panel.

|X. Configuring Apps Installed Logging- To set up this feature, toggle ‘Apps Installed’ button green from the Logging menu. It records details about all the apps installed onto the monitored mobile phone, including app name, app version, and installation date onto the online control panel.

X. Configuring Mail Logging- To set up email logs, toggle ‘Mail’ button green listed under Logging menu. All emails (sent and received) will be logged in the online control panel.

XI. Configuring Notes Logging- To set up this feature, toggle ‘Notes’ button green from the Logging menu. It records details about all the notes saved onto the monitored mobile phone,

XII. Configuring Calendar Logging- Toggle the Calendar logging button green from the Logging menu. Every Calendar event created on the remote smartphone will be recorded, including other details such as time, date, text, and location.

XIV. Configuring Location Logging- The PhoneSheriff™ software lets you to set the Location Logging settings of the monitored iPhone. Location of the monitored device is possible by logging GPS locations of it. The frequency of logging locations can also be adjusted with the help of the slider.

* Ensure that GPS is turned on in the monitored iPhone. If not, then PhoneSheriff™ will not be able to make any GPS logs of the device.

Just toggle the buttons against the Location command and the buttons glows green. Changes are automatically saved. Press the Back button on the phone to return to the PhoneSheriff™ main panel. Follow the below screenshot.

Intelligence GPS Tracking

To set up intelligence GPS tracking, select the location option from the logging settings and activate intelligence GPS tracking option. GPS locations will be logged only when the cell ID and Wi-Fi areas of the monitored device are changed. It lengthens the battery-life and prevents battery-draining.

Configuring Filters

The PhoneSheriff™ software lets you to set various filters applicable on the monitored smartphone.

The various filters are as follows:

I. Call and SMS Filtering List- Enable or disable the Blacklist and Whitelist Contacts created in the monitored device. You can add contacts directly from Address Book of the phone. Follow the below screenshots in the screenshots shown.

To set up a Blacklist, select ‘Manage Blacklist’ from the Filters menu to enter phone numbers to be restricted from phone and SMS communication. You can enter the number manually or import number from contacts saved on the monitored device. Enter or select the phone number in the appeared box to block SMS (out) or block call (in/out) and press ‘add’ button.

To set up a Whitelist (an allowed list of phone numbers that can call or be called when the phone is locked), select it from the Filters menu. You can type the number directly or import number from contacts saved on the monitored device. Tap on ‘Add’ button. Follow the below screenshots in the sequence shown.

II. Time Restrictions- Select Time Restrictions from Filters menu. Enter the Start and End time to the talk-time filter or phone time filter in order to either lock the phone completely or restrict it from making/receiving calls. Then tap on Ok when complete. Follow the below screenshot.

III. Website Filter- Select Website Filter from the Filters menu. Add the web addresses (website URLs) manually to the custom list. You can also filter the websites category–wise by simply choosing the website categories from the category list. Follow the below screenshot.

IV. Restrict Applications- Select ‘Restrict Applications’ option from the listed Filters menu. Select and toggle on the ‘Enable Filter’ button green. By tapping on ‘Lock All Applications’, all apps on the monitored iPhone will get blocked and will not open. ‘Unlock All Applications’ button will unlock all locked apps and the user would easily access those.

To restrict certain apps, simply tap the app names in the list to be blocked and an orange check mark will appear next to those app names. Follow the below screenshots.

Configuring Alerts

Go to PhoneSheriff™ v2.0 home screen and tap on ‘Alerts’.

The above screen will appear as a result. Here, you will find a list of various options to set up alerts for different functions such as:

I. Geo-Fencing Alert- Tap on ‘Geofencing Alert’ option listed under the Alerts menu and toggle on the ‘Send Alert’ option. Specify a location and distance (miles) in order to create a custom electronic boundary. When the monitored iPhone goes beyond the specified virtual boundary, an email alert will be triggered and sent to the pre-set email address. Follow the below screenshots.

II. Custom Alerts- Set up Custom Alert, select and enable the custom keyword alert option from the Alert menu. Select ‘Add new keyword’, enter the custom keyword in the appeared box and tap on ‘OK’ button. So, if the customized keyword in the SMS, a custom alert is generated.

III. Intrusion Alert- Set up an Intrusion Alert, select and turn it on from the Alerts menu. Intrusion alerts will be triggered and sent to the online control panel in case wrong PIN, wrong password and wrong remote SMS command has been tried on the monitored mobile phone. Follow the below screenshot.

IV. Profanity Alerts- Set up profanity alert and activate it from the Alert menu. Profanity alert will be generated and sent to the online control panel in case the monitored device receives or sends any SMS/Email with the restricted keywords. Follow the below screenshots.

Configuring Email Reports

As you tap on ‘Email Reports’ feature on PhoneSheriff™ v2.0 home screen, you will find different iPhone activities to be logged. Turn ON the logs you want to be recorded and sent to the online control panel. Enter the email ID to which the logs are to be sent.

Additionally, set interval for email alerts such as daily, weekly, bi-weekly and monthly according to your requirement and convenience. Follow the below screenshots.

Configuring SMS Commands

This feature of PhoneSheriff™ v2.0 allows performing remote SMS commands with the monitored iPhone. You can send an SMS text message to the device (from any mobile phone) and, depending on which command you send, a particular action will occur.

You can remotely lock/unlock the monitored device, instantly retrieve the phone's location and SIM card information, and wipe the phone's recent activities all from your own phone! Follow the below screenshot.

To perform a remote SMS command, you would need to compose an SMS text message to the monitored iPhone. In the text box, ONLY include the command from the list below. NO other characters can be in the body of the message other than the command.

Here is the list of the remote SMS operations that PhoneSheriff™ v2.0 can perform and their SMS commands:

  • Locking the device: *LOCK#
  • Unlocking the device: *UNLOCK#
  • Retrieving the current GPS location: *GPS#
  • Retrieving the current SIM card information: *SIMINFO#
  • Remotely wiping current phone data (call, SMS & URL history): *WIPE#
  • Remotely uninstalling PhoneSheriff™ through the iPhone: *UNINSTALL#

Note: There is no case-sensitivity with the SMS commands.


Adjusting Settings

Select ‘Settings' feature from the PhoneSheriff™v2.0 home screen. The below shown screen will appear with various remote features. Follow the below screenshot.

I. SIM Settings- The SIM Settings menu gives you options to keep track of the security of the device's SIM card. You can customize an alert message and have that send to any number you choose whenever the SIM card is changed out of the device. Also, you can implement an option where the phone becomes locked whenever the SIM card is changed. Follow the below screenshot.


II. Security Settings- Tap on the Security Settings field to move to the stealth settings as shown in the image below. Here, you can change the Access Code that you dial to bring up the interface and your login information of your PhoneSheriff v2.0 online account.

Also, you can select whether or not to hide the Cydia icon. By default, these feature is set to ON to hide it. Tap Save to save any changes.

Note: It is strongly recommended to leave this function as "On" in order to ensure that the phone will show no changes that reflect that has been jailbroken or that PhoneSheriff v2.0 is installed.

III. Change Web Login- Tap on the Change Web Login field to change the online control panel login details. Enter the old Email ID and password. Enter the new login and tap on Save button.

IV. Stop Monitoring- Select “Stop Monitoring” option from Settings menu and tap on Yes button. Follow the below screenshots.

V. Uninstall-Select ‘Uninstall’ option from the Settings menu and tap on ‘OK’ button. PhoneSheriff™ v2.0 will be removed from the monitored iPhone permanently. Follow the below screenshot.
